ADA assistive listening devices ADA

courtrooms for those who are hearing impaired. Please ask the
Court Clerk or another judicial officer if you need one of these
devices.
Docket Display
To view room assignments for individual cases
each courthouse has been outfitted with Docket Display
Boards. Information including case numbers and names
of individuals involved are availableto
quickly help the public navigate through the Courthouses.
Wireless-Enabled
Courtrooms The Baltimore City Circuit Court in
partnership with Courtroom Connect Inc., a wireless Internet provider
for courtrooms, installed a high-speed wireless Internet
network in all courtrooms in Mitchell Courthouse and East
Courthouset. This service is aimed toward giving attorneys more
technology resources while in court.
Once connected, attorneys can
access legal research sites, send and receive email from support staff for
trial matters, and take advantage of other Internet resources from each
courtroom. If equipped with remote access capabilities, users can also
securely bring their full network resources with them in every courtroom,
including network files and forms, case management systems, intranets, and
other home office network resources. It is our goal to provide a seamless
technology environment that enables attorneys, as well as improves access
to information and resources to ensure justice and less court
delay.

NOTICE TO ALL COUNSEL - Telephonic Appearances
For appearances commencing in May 2010, we will join
a growing number of Judges in Maryland and around the country in using
CourtCall, to conduct telephonic appearances by counsel ("CourtCall
Appearances").
In our courtrooms, CourtCall will be used in the following
circumstances in the Civil docket:
1. Pretrial settlement conferences (Room 511 Mitchell). Parties or
other persons who are not counsel who are excused from attendance by
prior court order will be required to participate by CourtCall.
CourtCall is not available for use by attorneys for pretrial
settlement conferences.
2. In cases where prior permission is obtained from the presiding
judge, attorneys will be permitted to participate in scheduling
conferences by CourtCall before the following Judges: Pierson, Cannon,
Carrion.
3. In cases where prior permission is obtained from the presiding
judge, attorneys will be permitted to participate in motion hearings
by CourtCall before the following Judges: Pierson, Cannon,
Carrion.
4. In cases where prior permission is obtained from the presiding
judge, professional witnesses may be permitted to participate in Fast
Track cases.
CourtCall will be used in Civil and Domestic dockets in the following
circumstances:
1. Attorneys within the Beltway will be permitted to participate at
Postponement Court by CourtCall. Attorneys outside the Beltway may
continue to use the current phone system for single callers only. All
conference calls must be arranged privately by counsel, so that only a
single incoming call to the Court is placed or the attorneys may all
agree to use CourtCall. No conference calls though cell phones will be
permitted.
When a telephonic appearance using CourtCall is permitted by the
Court, Counsel should contact CourtCall by serving and filing with
CourtCall (not the Court), NOT LESS THAN THREE (3) COURT DAYS PRIOR TO
THE HEARING DATE, a Request for Telephonic Appearance Form and paying a
fee of $55.00 for each CourtCall Appearance. (There are no subscription
fees) An exception to this rule is granted for
calls to any Postponement Court. The request in these cases may be made
up to four (4) hours in advance of the time of Postponement
Court.
A CourtCall Appearance is made as part of a Court's regular calendar
and all counsel who have timely filed their request form and paid the
fee may appear by dialing the Courtroom’s dedicated toll free
teleconference number, and access code (if any) which will be provided
by CourtCall, LLC on the confirmation faxed to your office. A
pre-hearing check-in will occur five minutes prior to the scheduled
hearing time. A CourtCall Appearance is voluntary and may be made
without consent of the other party, and the Court continues to reserve
the right to reject any request. In matters where only one party elects
to make a CourtCall Appearance, the matter will be heard on the Court's
speakerphone provided by CourtCall.
You may obtain additional information by calling the CourtCall
Program Administrator, CourtCall at (310) 342-0888 or (888)
